Cooney-Sabbatini Wedding Day at Mohegan Sun at Pocono Downs in PA

Thomas and Mileise reconnected after meeting years earlier. Tom’s brother told a funny story about a date where Mileise got all dressed up for a date and his brother didn’t. Flash to the next scene and they are standing along the Susquehanna River after a wedding at the Good Shepherd Lutheran church in downtown Wilkes-Barre, Pa. The winds of change were blowing hard as Spring rushed in to coat the valley in a warm sun. The wedding party and all the kids joined the new bride and groom under the bridge on the River Commons for a few photographs. We then headed into the Luzerne County Courthouse for some elegant portraits against the backdrop of it’s stunning architecture. This building was a model for the state capital in Harrisburg,PA. Soon we were heading to the Mohegan Sun for their reception. I drove my ivory 1968 Mercedes Benz 280 SE, so the wedding couple arrived in classic elegance.

The Australian DJ from NYC mixed it up to provide a festive intro where the bride and groom danced and all the kids followed. While taking pictures by the cool mural in the lobby Joe Sabatini from Sabatini’s Pizza yelled over to me…..hi Rob! I said hello!!!! By the way are you related to the bride here? I was meaning to ask her all day. It turns out that Joe’s family lost a b in Sabbatini on their way into the USA way back. Before we knew it Mileise had Joe back into the reception area and was introducing him to the family. Hit the Road Jack roared on in the background followed by Go Sailing by Bobby Darin and Ain’t that a Kick in the Head by Dean Martin among others. That’s Italian! New York New York was the height of the reception!
