Again we are humbled by our fragility on earth as the earthquake in Japan showed us how quickly the earth can shift and lives are forever changed or ended. The shockwaves sent mild waves across the Pacific ocean to my second home here in Santa Barbara. People gathered on the raised bluff at Mesa Lane near the Douglass Preserve over-looking the ocean in anticipation of the incoming surge. Not much was noticeable…..but the many that gathered there to wait showed a respect for the power of the earth and it’s natural occurrences.
